Entrepreneurs in the making. Members of Tim Wheeler’s class at Calamus-Wheatland Elementary in Calamus recently completed a Junior Achievement™ (JA) unit. The students learned about financial literacy, entrepreneurship, how various natural, human and capital resources work together to create a successful business and how businesses endeavor to keep with up the times and keep making a profit. Central schools to record, broadcast board meetings
The Central Community School Board May 8 approved spending $18,710 to purchase audio and video equipment that will allow school board meetings to be recorded and broadcast.

Clinton representative demands lower landfill cost
Clinton's representative to the Clinton County Area Solid Waste Agency (CCASWA) says she won't be satisfied until the agency lowers the city's waste disposal cost, either by reducing tonnage disposal rates, also known as tipping fees, or lowering the per-capita assessment charged to Clinton County municipalities.

Landfill board puts off decision on bioreactor
The board of directors of the Clinton County Area Solid Waste Agency (CCASWA), in a split vote, agreed to table a decision on the future of the bioreactor despite a recommendation from the executive board to cease bioreactor operations rather than pour a substantial sum of money into equipment repairs.
