Touching tribute. Rebecca Jo Smith, wife of Alvin “Nick” Smith of Clinton, lost her battle with melanoma in September 2012. A friend of Nick’s made this collage of pictures of him and his wife to honor her memory. Nick promised Becky he would do whatever he could to raise more awareness about melanoma/skin cancer. Clinton County supervisors react to jail needs study
The only alternative to building a new Clinton County jail is to close the existing jail and pay an estimated $50 million over 20 years to house inmates at facilities in Cedar, Jackson, Scott and other neighboring counties, consultant Mike Morman of Shive Hattery Architecture and Engineering told the Clinton County Board of Supervisors Monday.
