Lawrence 'Larry' Fox
Lawrence "Larry" Fox, 63, of Davenport died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Wheatland, with the Rev. John Cofield officiating.

Pallbearers were Chad Fox, Don Straka, Mark Davis, Bob Gloar, Jim Rorick and Darrel Kroh. Honorary pallbearers were Rich Pierce, Rik Aquirre, Craig Carlson, Gaylon Rorick, Randy Jones, Gary Pingel, Loren Marten, Darren Levien, Jason Kay and Jan Schnede.

Visitation was 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, at Chapman Funeral Home, Wheatland.

Larry was born July 20, 1949, in Davenport to Warren and Bonnie Emerson Fox. He married Sharon Nicholson May 7, 1977, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Wheatland.

Lawrence was a 1967 graduate of Wheatland High School. He served his country in the Navy.

For 35 years he worked for Command Business Systems and the last six years drove bus for the Davenport city transit.

He was a member of the Wheatland American Legion and the Eagles. For over 30 years he belonged to a pool league in the Calamus and Wheatland area.

Lawrence's greatest love was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife; a son Chad Lawrence (Nichole) Fox of Davenport; a daughter, Stephanie Rose (Todd) Groharing of Davenport; six grandchildren; his mother, Bonnie Fox of Wheatland; a sister, Jan Hamdorf of Wheatland; a brother, Wesley (Nancy) Fox of Lowden; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father.
