Joseph Raymond Riepe 
Joseph Raymond Riepe, 70, of Preston died Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center South, Clinton.

Cremation rights have been accorded.

Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 24, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Preston. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m.

Joseph was born Oct. 11, 1942, to Albert and Marjorie Cammack Riepe in Mt. Pleasant. He attended Mt. Pleasant Schools and graduated with the class of 1960. In 1964, Joe graduated from Drake University, where he ran cross-country.

Joseph taught social studies and government and coached basketball and football for the Preston School District for 35 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping, canoeing, fishing and golfing.

Joseph was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Bellevue and the Masonic Lodge.

  Joseph is survived by sons, Todd (Janie) Riepe of Delafield, Wis., and Adam Riepe (Ally Jamison) of Spragueville; a daughter, Jill (Brian) Schulz of Lockport, N.Y.; two granddaughters; a brother, Mike (Heidi) of Mt. Pleasant; a sister, Linda Woods of Libertyville, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

  A memorial fund has been established.
