Lois V. Stuedemann Youngblut
Lois V. Stuedemann Youngblut, 66, of Waterloo died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at her home of natural causes.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at Grace Lutheran Church, Waterloo, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, Waterloo. Visitation also will be held for an hour prior to services at the church Thursday.

Lois was born April 30, 1946, in Clinton, to Elmer and Esther Schember Stuedemann. She married Charles C. Youngblut Oct. 17, 1970, in Waterloo, and they were later divorced.

Lois graduated from Central Community High School, DeWitt, in 1964. She received her bachelor of arts degree from the University of Northern Iowa in 1976 and her masters in school counseling in 1990.

She was employed at Qwest Communications for 15 years. She was a Girl Scout leader and a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her mother of DeWitt; daughters, Jennifer (Adam) Gassman of Dysart and Joanna (Gary) O'Clair of Waterloo; five grandchildren; brothers, Darrell (Barb) Stuedemann of Omaha, Neb., Lowell (Juli) Stuedemann of Eldridge, Wayne (Nancy) Stuedemann of DeWitt, Glenn (Terry) Stuedemann of Wycoff, Minn., and Dave (Shelly) Cogswell of Dallas, Texas; sisters, Karen Stuedemann of Sycamore, Ill., Sharon Knudson of DeWitt, Toni Tayloe of Davenport and Amy Long of Davenport; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father; a son and his father.

Memorials may be made to Special Olympics and River Hills School.
