Donna L. Corbett
Donna L. Corbett
Donna L. Corbett, 82, of Riverton, Wyo., died Nov. 23, 2012 , at her home.

Memorial services were held Monday, November 26, at Davis Funeral Home in Riverton. Pastor Rex Whitman of the Riverton First Baptist Church and Pastor Matthew Whitman of the Lander Evangelical Free Church officiated.

Donna was born Sept. 13, 1930, to Stephen Edward and Alice Eliza Knowlton Gage in Iowa City. She graduated from high school in Iowa City.

She married James Hamilton Corbett, April 6, 1952, in Calamus. James' career was in the Air Force, so they lived in many states. When James retired they lived in Rapid City, where she worked as a claims manager for two different insurance companies. Donna moved to Riverton in 2008.

She was a former Girl Scout leader and served at polling places as an election judge.

Donna attended the First Baptist Church in Riverton, volunteered at the Riverton Library and was named the Fremont County Library System's Riverton Unsung Hero for 2010, for setting the standard for unparalleled volunteer service.

She enjoyed camping, quilting, sewing, reading, traveling and collecting owls.

She is survived by a son, David M. (Rhonda) Corbett of Littlefield, Texas; daughters, Susan (Rex) Whitman of Riverton, Peggy A. (Herman) Walters of Farmington, N.M., and Nancy (Michael) Williams of Flora Vista, N.M.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ron (Helena) Gage of Yuma, Ariz.

She also was preceded in death by her husband, a grandson, a brother and a sister.

Memorials may be made to Help for Health Hospice, in care of The First Baptist Church, 840 N. First St., Riverton, WY 82501.
