Kathleen P. Stahle
Kathleen P. Stahle, 72, of Bettendorf died Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at Trinity Pathway Hospice, Davenport.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 11, in the All-Faith Chapel at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Daven-port.

Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Pallbearers were grandchildren, Brian Frahs, Sara Folker, Allison Rueter, Lauren Keller, Rachel, Amanda and Tom Stahle, Andy and Kiley Petersen and Justin, Katie, Maggie, Hailey and Jenna Kirby.

The former Kathleen Phyllis Kernan was born April 13, 1940, in Davenport to Paul L. and Dorothy M. Keefe Kernan. She graduated from the Immaculate Conception Academy.

She married Gerald Omer Stahle on May 30, 1960, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Bettendorf. He died Jan. 25, 1984.

Kathy owned and operated "The Cakery" in Bettendorf for many years. Following the death of her husband, she stepped into his role and became a partner at K&K Hardware, Bettendorf. Later, she co-owned and operated Kernan's Restaurant in Princeton for many years.

She had a wonderful sense of humor and cherished the time she spent with her family. She also enjoyed the outdoors, camping and golfing as well as playing cards.

Survivors include her children, Laurie Hoffman of Eldridge, Susie (David) Rueter of DeWitt, Ann Stahle of Bettendorf, Mike (Amy) Stahle of Bettendorf, Carolyn (Steve) Petersen of Preston, Kris (Lonny) Kirby of Princeton and Peggy (Daryl) Welke of Princeton; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Marianne (Gene) Weis of Bettendorf, Colleen (Rod) Morthland of Princeton, Eileen (Don) Stichter of Tucson, Ariz., and Patty (Rudy) Morgan of Princeton; a brother, Mike (Sue) Kernan of Princeton; and a brother-in-law, Rich Lassiter of Princeton.

She also was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and a great-granddaughter.

A memorial fund has been established.
