Clyde O. Kleinsmith
Clyde O. Kleinsmith, 78, of Wheatland died Wednesday Dec. 26, 2012, at his home.

There will be a private graveside service at a later date.

Clyde was born March 11, 1934, in DeWitt to Forrest and Maureen Thompson Kleinsmith. He married Darlene Rohwedder Dec. 22, 1962, in Rock Island, Ill.

Clyde had worked as an inspector at J.I. Case. He was a member of the Dixon American Legion Post 353, Zealous Masonic Lodge No. 435-Oxford Junction, AARP and Scottish Rite of Freemasonry 32nd degree in Clinton.

Clyde had served in the Air Force, and he enjoyed fishing and hunting, along with being a very good carpenter.


Survivors include his wife; sons, Lance (Debra) of Jacksonville, Fla.; Mitchell (Wanda) of New Orleans, La.; Mark (Gwen) of Walcott, John (Stacee) of Alaska and Scott (Amy) of Calamus; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sisters, Lou Jean (Dale) Scott of Maquoketa and Karman (John) Jamison of Wyoming.

He was preceded in death by a brother, a sister and a grandchild.
