Tulane Curtis
Tulane Curtis, 80, of DeWitt died Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at Senior Star Assisted Living, Davenport.

A funeral service was held Monday, Feb. 4, at the Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, with the Rev. H. Robert Harness officiating.

Burial was in Davenport Memorial Park. Grandchildren Courtney Miller, Austin, Joshua, Drew and Ross Curtis and Saeger Olsen were pallbearers.

The former Tulane Irene German was born April 6, 1932, in Northville, Mich., to Harry and Bernice Niriver German. She graduated from Northville High School.

Tulane married Ray Curtis Sept. 19, 1953, in Northville. The couple farmed and raised Belgian and racehorses at their farm at rural DeWitt. Ray died Oct. 27, 2006.

Tulane loved all animals, especially horses. She also was a very talented artist.

Surviving are sons, Danny (Julie) Curtis of Eldridge and Larry (Rebecca) Curtis of DeWitt; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Harry (Mary) German of Michigan; and other relatives.
