Velma C. Yaddof
Velma C. Yaddof, 82, of Preston died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center, Clinton.

A funeral service was held Monday, Feb. 11, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Preston.

Burial was in the Preston Cemetery. 

Law Jones Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Velma was born June 29, 1930, to John and Leoni Schmidt Steines in Spragueville. She attended country school and St. Mary's Catholic School in Clinton.

Velma married Alvin Yaddof Oct. 27, 1948, in Clinton.

She worked for the Preston Creamery for 14 years, Clinton Corn Co. in A.R.A Food Service and also sold Avon.

She attended St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Preston.

Velma was a member of the Red Hat Club and enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels, visiting with friends and taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband; sons, Michael (Lisa) Yaddof and Leroy Yaddof, all of Preston; daughters, Barb (John) Dodd of Clinton, Nancy (Jim) Derganz of Maquoketa and Carol (Terry) Helmle, Janet (Jon) Lee and Debbie (David) Lee, all of Preston; 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Velma was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters and a granddaughter.
