Marvin R. Otto
Marvin R. Otto, 88, of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at Mercy Living Center North, Clinton.

In following his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.

A gathering of family and friends will take place 1-3 p.m., Saturday, March 2, at the Pape Funeral Home, Clinton.

Private graveside services will follow at Springdale Cemetery, Clinton.

Marvin was born in Elvira March 9, 1924, the son of Clarence and Margaret Hass Otto. He married Marilyn Nielsen Nov. 2, 1947, at Zion Lutheran Church in Clinton. Marvin and Marilyn farmed in the Elvira, Low Moor and Delmar areas until retiring and moving to Clinton in 1982.

Marvin enjoyed restoring furniture and was an avid woodworker. He was a mem-ber of the Clinton County Farm Bureau, delivered Mobile Meals and enjoyed play-ing cards.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Marilyn; a son, Terry (Roxanne) Otto of Clinton; a daughter, Julie (Steve) Dilling of Rochelle, Ill.; five granddaughters, Johannah (Da-vid), Rachel (Dwayne), Jennifer (Trent), Stephanie (Bryan), and Jessica; five great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Kitrina.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Gary and Donald.
