Eldon J. Wiese
Eldon J. Wiese, 81, of Charlotte died Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday April 1, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Charlotte.  

Visitation is 3-7 p.m., Sunday, March 31, at the Pape Funeral Home, Clinton.

  Burial will be in Glahn Cemetery, near Goose Lake.  Casket bearers will be his grandsons.

Eldon was born Aug. 23, 1931, in Clinton County to John A. and Louise Kunde Wiese. He graduated from Charlotte High School in 1948. He was a mechanic in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.  

He married Lola Glahn July 17, 1955, in Charlotte.  

Eldon farmed and milked cows on the family farm near Charlotte his entire life.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where he served as an elder and trustee.  He was a member of the E.A.A., the R.E.C., where he was director, and served on the Clinton County Conservation Board.

Surviving are his wife; sons, Dean (Linda) of Charlotte, Duane (Deb) of Camanche; and John (Janice) of Clinton; seven grandchildren; six great-grand-children; a sister, Donna (Robert) Wirth of Elwood; and several nieces and nephews.
