Evelyn Petersen
Evelyn Petersen, 90, of DeWitt died Friday, April 12, 2013, at Genesis Medical Center, DeWitt.

Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, April 15, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt, with Father Paul Connelly officiating.

Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers are her grandsons, Dennis, Brian Curt, Eric, Cody Nick, Matt, Dustin and Nathan Petersen.

Visitation will be held Sunday, April 14, 3-6 p.m., at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, where the Rosary and scripture service will be held at 6 p.m.

Evelyn Petersen was born Sept. 15, 1922, in Kansas City, Mo., to Thomas and Grace Kerens. She married Marvin Petersen June 1, 1943, in Alexandria, La. He died July 2, 1997.

Evelyn enjoyed reading and crocheting, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, was an avid Cubs fan and attended the DeWitt Fitness Center regularly.

Survivors include her children, Dave (Jean) Petersen of Kalispell, Mont., Duane (Pam) Petersen of Etters, Pa., Maureen (Bevan) Kreinbring of Clinton, Wis., Mike (Lynne) Petersen of Minonk, Ill., Daryl (Lisa) Petersen of Toledo, Gregg (Deb) Petersen of DeWitt, Pete (Cindy) Petersen of Clinton and Bill (Ann) Petersen of DeWitt; 25 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Kerens of Clinton.

She was also preceded in death by a son and twin sons at birth.

Memorials may be made to the family.
