Theresa C. Schaefer

Theresa C. Schaefer, 85, of Clinton died Monday, April 22, 2013, at Crestridge Nursing Home, Maquoketa.

A funeral service will be held Saturday April 27, at 11 a.m. at the Pape Funeral Home, Clinton.

Visitation is 10 a.m. until the service hour on Saturday.

Burial will be at St. Irenaeus Cemetery, Clinton. Pallbearers are Russell Burken, James Schaefer, Ryan Kane, Nicholas Schaefer, Kristen Miller and Sheri Henry.

Theresa was born July 31, 1927, in Bryant to John and Loretta Roling Wagemaster. She married Harold Schaefer Oct. 6, 1948, in Bryant. Harold died Feb. 20, 1995.

Theresa enjoyed crafting, knitting, crocheting and was an avid quilter. She was a member of the Catholic faith, U.C.T. and the AMVETS.


Surviving are her children, Nancy (Eugene) Burken of Miles and Larry (Nellie) Schaefer, Gerald "Gary" (Julie) Schaefer and Claudia (Bob) Kane, all of Clinton; nine grandchildren; a step-grandson; five great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; a sister; Eleanor Gerlach of Bellevue; and a brother-in-law, John Kurt of DeWitt.

She also was preceded in death by a son, two sisters and a brother.
