James "Jim" Joseph Casel
James "Jim" Joseph Casel, 75, of Eldridge, died Thursday, April 25, 2013, at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, in Davenport.

A funeral service was held Monday, April 29, at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Long Grove.

Burial was in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport.

Chambers Funeral Home in Eldridge is assisting the family with arrangements.

Jim was born April 23, 1938, in Maquoketa to Walter and Margaret Wallace Casel. He married Susan Kreiter June 29, 1963, at St. Ann's Catholic Church.

Following his graduation from Davenport High School, Jim served in the United States Army 1956-1959.

Jim retired from Alcoa in 1997 after 38 years of service, most of them in the foil mill. He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church and the United Steelworkers Union 105 in Bettendorf.

He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, golf, mowing the lawn and watching his grandchildren play sports.

Surviving are his wife; sons, Gregory (Kendra) of DeWitt, Todd (Virginia) of East Moline, Christopher (Michelle) of Davenport and Matthew (Leslie) of Manchester, Mo.; his mother of Long Grove; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, a brother and a sister in infancy.

Memorials may be made to St. Ann's Catholic Church or Eldridge Fire and Rescue.
