Dwain Galloway
Dwain Galloway, 70, of Grand Mound died Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

A service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18, at Schultz Funeral Home in DeWitt. Pastor Chuck Kelsey will officiate.

Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Mound. Pallbearers are Jeremy Coates, Clif Norberg, Chris Grell, Jay Hawthorne, Owen Boedeker, Dave Carson, Dennis Galloway and Kelly Noel. Honorary pallbearers are Justin Knight, Brandon Galloway, Jakob Galloway and Samuel Henningsen.

Visitation was held Friday, May 17, 4-8 p.m.

Harold Dwain Galloway was born June 30, 1942, in Elwood to Harold and Earline Riggs Galloway. He was raised and attended school in Grand Mound.

Dwain married his high school sweetheart, Carol Dammerman, Aug. 6, 1961. He spent the majority of his working years as an owner/operator truck driver, and in the building trade. He still enjoyed driving truck locally, even after retirement.

He enjoyed his acreage, loved camping and hunting with his family, watching the Hawkeyes and Bears and riding his Harley. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife; his children, Scott (Kelly) Galloway and Wendi (Josh) Mitchell, all of DeWitt; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two step-great-granddaughters; brothers, Gerald (Barb) Wirth, Earl (Jo), Don (Jan), Larry (Pat), Roger (Linda), Al (Pam), Russ (Marilyn), Jim (Bev) and Geff Galloway; sisters, Darlene Simmons, Rhea (Merwyn) Hasenmiller, Barb (Ken) Schroeder, Marcia (Ronnie) Barten and Linda Miller; his mother-in-law, Louise Lichtenstein; and brothers-in-law Dennis (Marsha) Dammerman and Randy (Joanne) Burmester; and many loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and father-in-law.
