Elaine F. Schanze Hack
Elaine F. Schanze Hack, 92, of Lost Nation died Friday, June 7, 2013, at Genesis Medical Center-DeWitt.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 12, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Wheatland. The Rev. John Cofield will officiate.

Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Wheatland.

Visitation was 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, June 11, at Chapman Funeral Home, Wheat-land.

Elaine was born May 14, 1921, in rural Low Moor to Earl and Emma Schnede Dann.

She married Gilmore Schanze Sept. 13, 1941. He died Jan. 12, 1963. She married Emil Hack May 28, 1966. He died Jan. 12, 1997.

She was a farm wife and a school teacher.

Elaine was a member of St. Paul Church, its ladies aid and Martha Aid and the Massillon Ladies Club.

She was a big Cubs fan and a draft horse enthusiast. She loved her garden and her flowers, but she especially loved all of her grandchildren.

In past years, she had enjoyed dancing with her husbands.

Surviving are her daughters, Sherrie (Don Reynolds) Dake of Milan, Ill., and Glenda (Jim) Lee of Wheatland; grand-daughters, Laurie (Terry) Stebral of Solon, Pam (Jason) Martensen of Onslow and Tamyra (Christian) Goss of Valparaiso, Ind.; four great-grandchildren; three step-daughters, Carma Lee McBeth of Burlington, Sherami (Terry) Thines of Baldwinsville, N.Y., and Joleen (Keith) Brown of West Branch; several step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husbands, she also was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Evelyn Riedesel and Earleen Muhl; and a son-in-law, Larry McBeth.
