Earl E. Bloomfield
Earl E. Bloomfield, 88, of Davenport, died Monday, July 22, 2013, at Westwing Place, DeWitt.

Visitation is 4:30-5:15 p.m. Friday, July 26, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, DeWitt.

A memorial talk will follow at 5:30 p.m. in the Kingdom Hall. Kevin Metz will officiate.

Earl was born June 14, 1925, in Danville, Ill., to Ernest and Grace Woolwine Bloomfield. He married Lucille M. Ferrone Sept. 12, 1950, in Chicago, Ill. She died Aug. 13, 2003.

Earl was a pipefitter and welder with the Pipefitters' Local 597 in Chicago until 1976. He then moved to the Quad Cities area, where he owned and operated a Rug Doctor Rents franchise until retiring in 2008.

Earl was an active member of the Central Davenport Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Earl loved road trips and enjoyed reading and his morning and afternoon coffee outings.

Survivors include a son, Daniel E. (Cherie) Bloomfield of Kissimmee, Fla.; a daughter, Deanna (David) Tague of DeWitt; two grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

He also was preceded in death by a brother.
