Agnes M. Eberhart
Agnes M. Eberhart, 76, of Charlotte passed away Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus, Davenport.

A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at Assumption Catholic Church, Charlotte.

Visitation was 3-7 p.m. Friday at the church in Charlotte where a rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. 

Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. Casket bearers will be her grandsons.

Agnes was born in Clinton County Sept. 26, 1936, the daughter of Lyle and Marcella Determann Hammond. She attended school in Elvira for 10 years and graduated from Lyons High School in 1954.

She married Robert Eberhart April 7, 1956, at St. Irenaeus Church, Clinton.

Agnes had been employed at A.C. Nielsen, Clinton; Iowa Mutual in DeWitt; the Mental Health Clinic, Clinton; and from 1985 until retirement, owned and operated Eberhart Farm Center with her husband.

Agnes was a member of Assumption Catholic Church and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was an avid follower of her children and grandchildren's athletic events and programs. She enjoyed her aquacise classes with her friends at the YWCA and looked forward to her Friday morning hair appointment with Marietta at Kountry Kurls. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Agnes is survived by her husband, Robert; five children, Lyle (Kristy) Eberhart of DeWitt, Craig (Lori) Eberhart of DeWitt, Nina (Kevin) Hoffman of Charlotte, John (Karen) Eberhart of Charlotte and Charles (Jill) Eberhart of Goose Lake; 14 grandchildren, Erin (Tony) Meyermann, Michael (Jana) Eberhart, Amanda Eberhart, Ross Eberhart, Alex Eberhart, Kyle Hoffman, Jared Hoffman, Levi Hoffman, Megan (Ryan) Johnson, Shaun Eberhart, Rachael Eberhart, Brady Eberhart, Tanner Eberhart and Libby Eberhart; five great-grandchildren, Brenna, Brylee, Calleigh, Camden and Rowen; a sister, Darlene (Larry) Lehmkuhl of Dellwood, Minn.; a brother, Robert (Pam) Hammond of Clinton; a sister-in-law, Gloria Hammond of Maquoketa; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Grace Kane and Janice Quick; and a brother, Delbert Hammond.
