Esther Mae Carstensen, 83, of Okeechobee, Fla., formerly of DeWitt, died Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, at a hospital in Okeechobee after a brief illness.
A memorial luncheon to celebrate Esther's life will be held Saturday, Nov. 2, at noon at the Clinton County Fairgrounds in DeWitt.
A funeral service was held in Okeechobee.
Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt.
The former Esther Mae Paarmann was born Oct. 10, 1929, in Clinton to Virtus and Lillie Esther Peters Paarmann. She married Robert Lowell Carstensen May 25, 1949. He died March 24, 2010.
Esther milked cows on the farm and helped with crops as well as being a homemaker. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt, and Peace Lutheran in Okeechobee.
She enjoyed her friends and church, volunteering and helping people in the community.
Surviving are sons, Greg (Mary) of Blue Grass and Gary (Janet) of DeWitt; a daughter, Gloria (Gary) Basch of Traverse City, Mich.; eight grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
