Robert J. Frick
Robert J. Frick, 72, of Davenport died Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at Genesis Medical Center, Davenport.

Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 2, at 10:30 a.m. at the Bentley Funeral Home,  Durant.  The officiant will be Pastor Nick Needham.

Interment will take place in the Walcott Cemetery. His grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation was Friday, Nov. 1, 4-8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Bob was born Oct. 28, 1941, to John and Bertha Ploen Frick in Davenport.  He graduated from Durant High School in 1960.  

Bob married Karen K. Riessen Nov. 3, 1962, in Davenport.

He worked at The Schebler Co. for 19 years and then became the training coordinator for the Sheet Metal Workers Joint Apprenticeship Program Local No. 91, Rock Island, Ill., retiring in 2006.

Bob was a founding member of the Walcott Lions Club, a member of the Walcott Community Club and served as a member of the Walcott Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife, Karen Frick of Davenport; his daughter, Kelly (Dan) Barr of DeWitt; his sons, Scott (Connie) Frick of Edwardsville, Ill., Byron (Suzanne) Frick of Johnston and Kirk (Bobbi) Ford of Davenport; nine grandchildren, Greg, Bethany, Kaitlyn, Alex, Samantha, Adam, Madeline, Kyle and Zach; and his brother, Curtis (Mary) Frick of Walcott.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Kent.

In lieu of flowers and statuary, please consider making a donation to the Walcott Lions Club or the Walcott Fire Department in his memory.
