Delora E. Casad
Delora E. Casad, 92, of Wheatland passed away Feb. 15, 2014, at Select Specialty Hospital in Davenport.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 18, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Wheatland, with the Rev. John Cofield officiating. Burial followed at St. Paul's Cemetery, Wheatland. Visitation was Monday, Feb. 17, at Chapman Funeral Home, Wheatland.

Delora was born June 4, 1921, to Carl and Fredricka Gerke Wilms in Kimball, S.D. She grew up in rural Maquoketa and married Glen Casad on May 8, 1943, in Maquoketa. They were married over 67 years until his death Feb. 19, 2011.
Delora assisted Glen as bookkeeper at Wheatland Body Shop for many years. She enjoyed golfing, quilting and playing cards, and was active as a volunteer at the Carroll Assistance Center. She was also a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ.

She is survived by daughters, Judy (Owen) Boedeker of Wheatland, Jane Bentrott of Maquoketa and Janet Oberg of Moline; son, Max (Neva) of DeWitt; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; and three step-great-great-grandchildren; twin sister, Velora Hale of Clinton; and many nieces and nephews.

Delora was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two brothers, Harold and Elmer.

Memorials may be directed to St. Paul's Church, St. Paul's Cemetery, Carroll Assistance Center or the charity of donor's choice.
