Nancy Adele Hass
Nancy Adele Hass was folded gently into the arms of her Savior Feb. 6, 2014.

Nancy was born to John and Evelyn Hefferan in 1938 in Chicago, her Valentine's Day birth portended a life full of sweetness and romance.

She graduated from Chicago's Barton Grade School and Calumet High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society and excelled as a drum majorette in the marching band. Nancy then attended Valparaiso University (Indiana) for two years majoring in business while working part time as a fashion model. It was on campus that she met her future husband Myron (Mike). He literally lit her fire (flaming batons) for her performances in the University Marching Band.

They were married at Timothy Lutheran Church in Chicago on Mike's birthday, Aug. 30, 1958, and returned to the Valpo campus for his senior year while she worked full time as a legal secretary for a mortgage brokerage firm. Their path then led to his Graduate School studies at the University of Denver where she worked full time at the school's placement office until their first son Steven was born and she began a 13-year career as a stay-at-home mom.

After living in San Francisco, they returned to Chicago, living in both southwestern and northern suburbs where sons Jeffrey and Gregory were born. During this time, Nancy took night courses and graduated with honors from Chicago City College in 1966. She also enriched her life (and filled the void she felt of never having a daughter) by starting a successful home-based baton twirling and dance school for little girls.

Her husband's career then took the family to Jacksonville, where she obtained her real estate sales and brokers licenses and to suburban Washington, D.C., before moving to Longwood, Fla., in 1980. It was here in the suburban Orlando area that she firmly planted her residential real estate sales career. She was the top-producing salesperson for Huskey Realty/Coldwell Banker in their Longwood office for over a dozen consecutive years beginning in the early 1990s.

Nancy was especially fond of ocean cruises, dancing and time spent with family and friends. She felt her greatest achievement in life was successfully raising a happy, cohesive family. She is survived by her husband, Mike; her sons, Steven (Giselle), Jeffrey (Alicja) and Gregory (Jeannine); and grandchildren, Amanda, Andrew, Peter and Samantha.
