Harold G. Turner
Harold G. Turner, 82, of Tipton died suddenly Saturday morning, June 28, 2014, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton, with burial in the Tipton Masonic Cemetery. The Rev. Ronald Lashmit will officiate. Visitation was Tuesday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established in Harold's name.

Harold was born Oct. 3, 1931, and was the son of Albert and Isabelle Adams Turner. Harold was united in marriage June 10, 1956, to Joyce Edna Schlaegel at Foursquare Church in Tipton. Harold worked for the city of Tipton many years and then worked for the Cedar County Secondary Department from August 1973 to May 1993.

Harold is survived by his daughters, Penny (Michael) Reynolds of Tipton and Cheryl (Leonard) Franzen of DeWitt; grandchildren, Crystal, Nicole, Travis, Jodie, Joni, Jamie and Joy; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Joyce, who died Sept. 1, 1999; an infant daughter, Crystal; sister, Alberta; brother, Robert; and stepdad, Bill.

After the graveside burial rites, friends are invited to join his family for a time of food, fellowship and storytelling at the Tipton VFW.
