Editor's note: This message was sent by Central DeWitt Superintendent Dan Peterson to district parents:
Giving our seniors the commencement celebration they’ve worked so hard for is our priority but so is the health and safety of those involved. Because of that, commencement will be a privately-held event for graduates and their immediate family only. It will take place on May 17th at 3 p.m. The public will not be allowed to attend however it will be streamed live on YouTube.
The ceremony will be followed by a parade through town where we encourage the community to cheer and wave at our graduates from the safety of their own porches. We will share the route closer to the event. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation to make sure we comply with state regulations and allow our graduates a chance to walk across the stage.
For seniors and their parents, there will be a Zoom meeting on Tuesday, May 5th at 4:30 p.m. where more information will be shared.
Dr. Dan Peterson, Superintendent
