A monthly-scheduled test of the Clinton County severe weather and outdoor warning sirens will still take place Tuesday, but officials said severe cold temperatures will limit that test.
Clinton County Emergency Management Coordinator Chance Kness said only the sirens owned by Exelon that cover the Cities of Clinton, Camanche and Low Moor will be briefly sounded at 10 a.m. Tuesday. The sirens are traditionally tested the first Tuesday of each month.
Kness explained the sirens are designed to operate in all weather conditions, but the decision was made to cancel the test to limit the risk of damage to the equipment.
Kness said the traditional siren testing will resume on the first Tuesday in April.
