Election day is Tuesday, Nov. 5. This is the first year in which Iowa school board members will be elected during the general election in November instead of during a separate election in September.
In Maquoketa, four four-year seats are uncontested, with incumbents Mary Herring and Michael Hayward filing along with newcomers Thomas Miller and Terry Creegan. Current school board members Lenke Carson and David Sybesma did not run again for their previous seats.
Only the seat of school board member Tanya Roeder is not up for election this year.
In Delwood, Heather Rickertsen and Cody Meyer will face off for the single at-large seat.
Incumbent Ron Filloon is running unopposed for the Director District 2 seat, and Ryan Hackman is running unopposed for the Director District 1 seat.
Neither Carmen Gerlach nor Rhonda Denger are running for another term.
In Easton Valley, three school board members have chosen not to run for another term, and one seat is contested. Shey Bauer and Jennifer Weber have both filed for the at-large seat currently held by Scott Bormann.
In District 2, Linda Skoff is running unopposed to replace Dusty Stoll. In District 1, Matthew Franzen is running unopposed to replace Ronald Regenwether.
In Andrew, three people turned in nomination papers for three open positions. Candidates are Shauna Barton, Courtney Veach and Jillian Rockwell.
Rockwell is the only newcomer. The current office-holder is Yvonne Weimerskirch.
In Midland, school board members with expiring terms include Clay Pestka, Terry Lineburg and Tom Orr. Orr has filed to serve another term, and Katalin Rushford and Stacie Cronkleton are running for the two remaining seats.
