Thursday, June 10: Star Walk, Eden Valley Refuge, 1415 50th Ave., Baldwin, 8:30 p.m. We will caravan from the nature center to McAndrews Wildlife Area. This walk is along a path winding up a large hill to a clear view of the sky. The area is largely grassland and known to host bobolinks and dickthistles, both fairly rare birds on our changed landscape. You may climb as far as you like the return will be all down-hill. Sunday, June 13: Building Better Birders and Citizen Scientists Workshop, Eden Valley Refuge, 1415 50th Ave., Baldwin, 1-4 p.m. We’ll conduct bird walks throughout the day and into the night lead by professional birder Kelly McCay. Sit down presentations will include visits with live raptors and sessions on woodpeckers, doves and warblers will include a drawing. You will want to pack a cooler for lunch and dinner.
