Twin sisters, Glenda Rae Evers, of DeWitt, and Gwenda Mae Sievers, of Calamus, will celebrate their 80th birthdays July 2.

Glenda and Gwenda were born July 2, 1940, at home to Charles and Lelia Davisson. 

Glenda married Darrell Henry Evers on July 5, 1958. Gwenda married John Henry Sievers on Dec. 30, 1961.

Glenda is retired from Iowa Mutual. Gwenda, who also previously worked at Iowa Mutual, is retired from U.S. Bank.

Glenda has two children: Jody (Debbie) Evers, of Englewood, Colorado, and Julie Evers, of DeWitt. She has one grandson, Christopher Evers.

Gwenda has three children: Mark (Stacy) Sievers and Debbie (Tom) Diercks, both of Grand Mound, and Barry Sievers, of Calamus. She has nine grandchildren: Robert, Anthony, Amanda, Grant, John, Jaelyn, Jenna, Janna and Austin; and five great-grandchildren.
