Applications are open for the 2019 Quad City Arts Metro Arts Youth Apprenticeship program.

Metro Arts is a community arts program that brings together artistically-talented young adults and professional local artists to create public works of art to beautify the Quad Cities. These paid apprenticeships offer students the opportunity to advance their artistic and professional skills in a work environment while making a positive impact on their community. Application deadline is Friday, March 1.

All students age 15 to 21 are eligible to apply. A letter of recommendation from a teacher or mentor is required. Apprentices are selected through an application and interview process. Following the application deadline, interviews will be conducted in March and April.

Spring 2019 projects include a mural in Bettendorf and a mural in Rock Island.

Summer 2019 projects include a mural in Davenport, a mural in Rock Island, sculpture/mixed-media project at the Figge, street art project in Bettendorf, photography in Milan, and improv comedy group in Rock Island.
