A pretrial conference is set next week for a man facing one count of sex abuse.

Cameron J. Wiley, 21, of DeWitt, is charged with one count of third-degree sexual abuse, a Class C felony. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Sept. 12.

According to the affidavit, at 1 p.m. July 14, an officer was called to a residence in DeWitt to attempt to locate a 15-year-old juvenile missing from Clinton. The officer located the juvenile in an apartment, along with Wiley, the apartment’s occupant.

The officer, after releasing the juvenile to their parents, went back to the apartment and spoke with Wiley. Wiley admitted on the night of July 13 through the morning of July 14, he committed a sex act on the juvenile on three separate occasions. The officer spoke with the juvenile, who corroborated the story, court records state.
