Members of the DeWitt Volunteer Fire Department received five` calls for service Thursday, June 27, through Thursday, July 11:

June 28

To the 1400 block of Ninth Street for a lift assistance. One truck and six volunteers arrived at the scene, with six standing by at the station.

June 30

To the 2500 block of 12th Street to help a person stuck in an elevator due to a power outage. One truck and six volunteers arrived at the scene, with 12 standing by at the station.

To the 400 block of 10th Avenue for a power line down. Three trucks and 10 volunteers arrived at the scene, with 12 standing by at the station.

To the 2100 block of Westwood Drive for a branch on a power line. Two trucks and 12 volunteers arrived at the scene, with six standing by at the station.

July 3

To eastbound U.S. 30 four-lane for a car fire, which was put out upon arrival. Two trucks and 12 volunteers arrived at the scene, with five standing by at the station.
