While in the Navy, Dale learned the pattern maker’s trade. After he was honorably discharged, he knew he would continue the building work that satisfied him. He worked at several pattern shops in the Quad City-area.
Later after several years and attempts, Dale founded a Pattern Shop on the edge of Walcott on Highway 6. He sold the shop when a stroke prevented him from continuing to do business.
Dale enjoyed fishing, hunting, travel and drinking beer. He loved spending time with family, his children and the grandchildren and their families.
Dale and Margaret, for several years, farmed and raised livestock in New Liberty.
Per his wishes, the rite of cremation and a private family celebration of life will be held.
