Services will be 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 6, at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Following the visitation his body will be cremated. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Costello, Johnny Sommerfelt, Ray Hickey, Bob Reed and Elliot Johnson.

Clayton Erik Johnson was born July 24, 1962, in Clinton, the son of Merlin and Vickie Mangler Johnson. He was a 1981 graduate of DeWitt High School.
Erik was a union carpenter with Local 678 for 31 years.
Erik enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. He enjoyed gambling and playing poker. He enjoyed watching car races and Sylvester Stallone movies.
He is survived by his significant other, Sheila Starry, of Marion; four siblings, Steven Johnson of Camanche, Linda (Dale) Smith, of DeWitt, Todd Johnson, of Camanche, and Elliot Johnson, of Syndey, Australia; several nieces and nephews, and his stepdad, Carlye Evers, of Low Moor.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Merlin Jr.
