Jim Kuehl, 80, of DeWitt, died Saturday evening, June 29, 2019, at Maggie’s House Assisted Living in DeWitt.
James Leonard Kuehl was born Aug. 16, 1938, at rural Calamus to Glenn and Esther Lund Kuehl. He married Karen Hospadarsky on June 22, 1958. Jim was employed with John Deere as a welder for over 30 years. He then drove truck for Niemann Farms.
He was a member of Grace Lutheran in DeWitt. Jim was a longtime member of the DeWitt Fire Department and DeWitt Ambulance Service as an EMT. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and playing cards.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Karen; a son, Brian Kuehl of Versailles, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Christopher Kuehl, Eric Kuehl and Kali Kuehl; a sister and brother-in-law, Jeannene and Norman Bousselot of Calamus; a brother and sister-in-law, Alvin and Lynne Kuehl of DeWitt; and nieces and nephews.
Preceding Jim in death were his parents, and a brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Velma Kuehl.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Schultz Funeral Home in DeWitt from 1 until 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, July 3. A service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery in DeWitt.
