Louis L. Hansen

A memorial service was held July 12 at Christ Lutheran Church in Normal, Illinois. Cremation rites were accorded by Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home in Bloomington.

Memorials may be made to the family or Christ Lutheran Church in Normal.

He was born Oct. 18, 1941, in Clinton, the son of Louis and Hilda Hansen. He married Ruth A. on April 27, 1979.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth, of Bloomington; three sons, Niels (Olivia) Hansen, of Shoreview, Minnesota, Alexander (Akanksha) Hansen, of Columbus, Ohio, and Robert (Brandy) Hansen, of Normal; five grandchildren, Mackenzie, Maxine, Ripley, Ren and Ahren; and three siblings, Orda Stankee and Robert (Carol) Hansen, both of DeWitt, and Rosemary (Dale) Cleland of Lake Oswego, Oregon.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Louis was a United States Air Force Veteran, serving three years as a crypto analyst and Arabic Linguist in the 6931st Security Group, Iraklion AB, Crete.

He worked for IAA for 26 years as a radio broadcaster before retiring.

Louis enjoyed hunting, fishing and flying, and in his younger years, racing sports cars in Colorado. One of his passions was announcing air shows, specifically the Prairie Aviation Air Show, and bike races.

He will be remembered fondly by those who knew him as being a wonderful father.
